Actor Alan Cumming married his longtime partner, graphic artist Grant Shaffer, at the Soho Grand Hotel in New York City on Saturday night.

“I just got married!!!!!” tweeted the 46-year-old star, who’s known for his roles in movies such as “X2” and “Goldeneye,” and currently starring as Eli Gold in the hit television series “The Good Wife.” The celebration occurred on the fifth anniversary of the couple’s London wedding.
Cumming posted the above photo of them celebrating with friends with the announcement, followed by a tweet with the hashtag “eatmericksantorum.”
Following their 2007 nuptials in England, Cumming said in a statement, “As residents of America we would have loved to marry there, but we hope that soon the civil rights that we have been afforded in the U.K. will be available to all gay Americans, and we look forward to celebrating not only our marriage, but the end of prejudice.”
