An elegant fall wedding with a food truck, donut wall and cigar table for two grooms 

New Jersey husbands Doug (he/him) and Ahmad (he/him) make it a point to enjoy the spaces that matter most to them with dear friends and family. Their engagement was a simple and intimate affair during an afternoon spent watching the Wendy Williams Show at home, when Doug put on a sentimental song and proposed to Ahmad. Their dogs were the only others in attendance, happily sporting “we are getting married” bandanas around their necks in celebration.

On the morning of their fall wedding, the husbands-to-be took casual photos at home with their wedding party, dressed in white tees and gray sweats. The group changed into their formalwear, with everyone in elegant shades of deep blue, silver and gray. Both grooms wore timeless matching dark navy blue tuxedos and donned custom details, including cuff links in memory of one groom’s father and monogrammed lapel pins that matched the font of their reception decor.

The Madison provided a unique ceremony setting for this couple’s elevated nuptials in Riverside, New Jersey. The beautiful outdoor brick terrace was ideal for taking pictures in the September weather. Doug and Ahmad kept the decor minimal, opting out of florals and instead choosing candle displays, minimal greenery and simple string lights.

The lovers exchanged their vows in an open-air courtyard, then exchanged their patent leather shoes for sneakers for the reception. Personalized table settings thanked guests individually with each celebrant’s name made from laser-cut wood. Guests were dressed in their best formal attire and enjoyed a late-night food truck, raw-frosted wedding cake, donut wall and cigar table, making for an unforgettable evening.
