Two years after Tara (she/her) and Tierra (she/her) welcomed their son into the world, the Virginia mothers knew they were ready for another bundle of joy. Using the same donor as they did for their son, their family of three became a family of four. To celebrate the upcoming arrival of their second child, they planned a family photo shoot incorporating their son and their growing family.
The two momsโ photoshoot took place outdoors, where the natural light captured their joy and excitement as they were showered in pink confetti and smoke in honor of their daughter. Tara, Tierra and their son wore all-white outfits to contrast the natural greens of the woods behind them and the silver of the circular sign sporting the babyโs name.
As active members and advocates in the LGBTQ+ community, the wives wanted to bring visibility to queer families, as well as representation for two women of color proudly celebrating their children and Black joy.
