Watch out, Martha Stewart. There’s a fresh new face in the destination wedding design market. Celebrity event planner Colin Cowie has joined forces with Palace Resorts in creating nine exclusive designs for the companies’ 11 five-star, all-inclusive Mexico properties, as well as its Hard Rock Hotels in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

Announced on Monday, this collaboration is a prime example of how the destination wedding market is becoming a popular option for engaged couples. “We were looking to elevate the destination wedding experience in a way the industry has never seen before,” says Palace Resorts Vice President of Marketing Frank Maduro. “Partnering with Colin Cowie will offer couples the ultimate destination wedding and a chance to connect with their loved ones through a very intimate and personal experience.”

Completely customizable, each of the 18 packages offered in the Colin Cowie Wedding Collection gives brides, brooms and grooms access to celebrity designer style, while retaining an affordable price. “Every aspect of the design is thought out to make the planning process effortless for the couple,” says Cowie. “The programs speak to a broad range of design sensibilities so that there is something for everyone, allowing brides [and grooms] to express themselves and their style without having to get bogged down in the planning details.”

Starting at just $1,500, each package includes everything a couple needs to create their dream wedding, from ceremony set-up to Champagne and beyond, working with hotel wedding specialists in coordinating every detail. Add-ons for receptions are available, allowing brides, brooms, and grooms to make it as extravagant or intimate as they desire.

Inspired by the beauty of Mexico, there is a design to satisfy every palette, from Sultry Sunset, a passionate combination of vibrant pinks, oranges, yellows and greens, to the understated elegance of the Pure White package, a captivating design featuring sheer, pearl, and ruffled pale white fabrics for a classic affair.

While same-sex marriages are only legally recognized in Mexico City, the country itself is a gay-friendly destination and Palace Resorts has hosted many same-sex ceremonies. Packages from this sure-to-be successful collaboration are available starting March 1, 2012, just in time for wedding season, but couples can begin booking immediately to create their very own Colin Cowie wedding.
