BHLDN, Anthropologie’s wedding brand, is partnering with Peter Som to create a collection this spring. Som, whose established clients include Claire Danes, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Scarlett Johansson, culled inspiration from his ready-to-wear collection with a twist on the traditional wedding gown.
The collection, launching on March 15 at BHLDN.com and at the brand’s Houston and Chicago store locations, will mark Som’s foray into the world of bridal.
The line includes two gowns and one special occasion dress made exclusively for BHLDN that look and feel like Som’s ready-to-wear designs. Prices range from $1,200 to $3,000.
American fashion designer Peter Som’s designs have captured the eyes of editors and fashion-savvy stars for more than 15 years. The former creative director of Bill Blass launched his own line in 2001. But his ability to grasp flowing femininity for brides was evident early on, as documented with his colonial-chic custom skirt for Keira Knightley for this June 2007 Vogue pictorial:
