By Team Equally Wed
Ellen DeGeneres reacted on her show today to Prop 8 being ruled unconstitutional yesterday, as well as JC Penney standing by its decision to hire Ellen as its spokesperson (a big thanks to GLAAD for getting more than 25,000 signatures to petition the department store to stand strong), despite pressure from anti-gay group One Million Moms.
Ellen calls the ruling a step in the right direction. She also says to the “haters” who are her “motivators:” “I want to be clear and here are the values that I stand for. I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated, and helping those in need. To me those are traditional values. That’s what I stand for.”
