Gay summer weddings are fabulous, right? Saturday Night Live introduced a hilarious new sketch on May 18, entitled “Xanax for Gay Summer Weddings” that addresses the common fear that gay marriage will ruin lives, induce feelings of anxiety and inferiority. Actors Vanessa Bayer, Bobby Moynihan, Bill Hader and Cecily Strong address the most common of causes that produce worry in straight people’s hearts: immaculate pastel suits, impressive wedding gifts from other guests, over-the-top wedding favors such as flights to Italy and $40,000 in cash, and guests who show off their Beyonce-choreographed dance moves on the wedding floor.
