More mayors nationwide are pledging support for marriage equality, according to Freedom To Marry. It’s reporting the total has reached 141.

New mayoral marriage equality advocates include North Providence, R.I., Mayor Charles Lombardi; South Lake Tahoe, Calif., Mayor Claire Fortier; Richmond, Calif., Mayor Gayle McLaughlin; and Charlottesville, Va., Mayor Satyendra Singh Huja. Huja is the first Virginia mayor to show support.
Current supporters include New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Houston Mayor Annise Parker, and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.
