Two stars of Amazon Prime’s lesbian reality show, Tampa Baes, are engaged.
After three years of dating, Marissa Gialousis and Summer Mitchell said yes to tying the knot while filming the final episode of the show’s first season.
“I was nervous to watch such an intimate moment back on TV since I am typically a very private person,” Mitchell told People in an exclusive interview. “Once I realized a proposal was definitely happening and I saw Marissa getting choked up, I was so in the moment with her that I forgot the cameras were even there.”

Gialousis, the one who proposed, said walking with the film crew to the picnic area where she planned to pop the question was “the most nervous I’ve ever felt in my life.”
“After getting the ring out and seeing Summer’s reaction though, it put me at ease and I could forget about everything else,” she said.
The proposal can be watched in the final episode of the show, available on Amazon Prime.
“My heart’s beating out of my chest,” Gialousis told Mitchell while they shared a romantic dinner on the beach. She then pulled out an engagement ring and brought Mitchell instantly to tears.
“You’re everything to me. You’re my soul mate,” Gialousis said.
Mitchell, of course, said yes.
“I’ve always been uncertain about where my future was going to go,” Gialousis said after putting the ring on Mitchell’s finger, “The only time I’ve ever been certain was when my future was standing there smiling at me.”
The couple’s family and friends then surprised the couple to celebrate.
Now that the episode has been released, the couple has been excited to share the news publicly.
“Keeping this secret was the WORST,” Gialousis wrote on Instagram. “I can finally say WEāRE ENGAGED.”
She went on to tell Mitchell that “life has been a dream come true with you since our first date. Youāre my ride or die and I know what we have is so rare in this world. I feel incredibly lucky to have not only found you, but to have had built such a happy life with you as well. I canāt wait to see what comes next for us bub.”
Mitchell also took to Instagram to celebrate, writing, “I get to marry my best friend yāall!!! In having to keep this announcement off social media for the last five months, we found so much joy in seeing our friends and families reactions in person. Itās been a constant reminder of what truly matters in life. I could write a novel about my love for this woman but Iād never be able to truly put into words the way she makes me feel. Marissa, youāre my home, my place of peace, my soulmate. I canāt wait to call you my wife. Itās me & you, bub. I love you so much.”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
