My amazing mother and me in St. Louis.
Theyโve wiped our tears from our childhood falls and our first heartbreaks. Theyโve encouraged us to be who we were meant to become and helped guide us on our path to get there. Theyโve sacrificed time, finances and their own desires in order to give us the best life possible. Our mothers. Where would most of us be without them?
As we celebrate Motherโs Day this Sunday, itโs important to make sure our moms know how much we appreciate them. However, we were inspired by ways you can honor mothers on an even more important dayโyouโre wedding, the day you officially begin a family of your own.

Real Wedding grooms Kevin and Pete were each escorted down the aisles by their mothers.
When your special day arrives, thereโs no sweeter way to honor the woman who raised you then by integrating heirloom details into your wedding day details. Here are five creative ideas:

When Kim married her wife Randie in upstate New York, it was important for the couple to infuse sentimental details into their day, including turning Kimโs motherโs wedding gown into a beautiful canopy for their chuppah.
ย
Kim was also insistent on using her inherited family china at the reception, much to the catererโs concerns. The mix-matched pieces paid homage to her ancestral lineage while creating individualistic, shabby chic table settings that paired effortlessly with the overall vintage theme.
ย
Add the โsomething oldโ to your wedding day ensemble with a locket keeping photographs of your mother. Brides can accessorize their bouquet or wear around their neck, and grooms and brooms can turn it into a boutonniere, keeping Mom close to their heart.
ย

My mom’s favorite has always been Chanel Nยฐ5
For femme brides who donโt have their own signature scent, spritz on the perfume your mother has worn for years. When nerves begin, one deep breath will send you back to childhood and put you at ease.
ย

If you’re not big on baubles, incorporate your motherโs jewelry into the bridesโ or bridesmaidsโ bouquets for a personal and glamorous touch.
Happy Motherโs Day to all of the moms out there!
