Congratulations are in order! Tony Award Winner Ben Platt revealed this week that his fiancé, fellow actor Noah Galvin, proposed, with the help of the couple’s labradoodle. The news of the second proposal comes six months after the Broadway power couple announced that Platt proposed to Galvin, with an Instagram post captioned, “he agreed to hang out forever.”
The husbands-to-be met after Platt stepped down from the titular role in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway and Galvin was announced as his replacement in November 2017. They developed a close friendship, which evolved into a romance a few years later. “We were friends for five years and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to really give it a shot,” Platt says. “We kind of skated around it for a long time.”

The actors now have matching engagement rings: silver bands with horizontal gem settings. Galvin’s sports a diamond while Platt’s features a sapphire. In celebration, Platt, who is currently starring in the critically acclaimed revival of Parade on Broadway, took to Instagram stories to share a picture of his ring, saying “He proposed back.”

Since the news of the double proposal hit social media, Broadway stars and fans have been outpouring their excitement for the happy couple, whose musical and acting careers have brought them fame on both stage and screen. Platt and Galvin co-wrote and star together in the upcoming film Theater Camp, which will be released this summer.
