Michele and Colleen’s Catholic Jewish same-sex wedding, Jersey style
As Michele’s mother said during her toast, “These two Jersey Girls met in North Carolina as though it was meant to be,” had such a special day filled with so many beautiful memories. They both love purple and wanted a wedding that you would find in New Jersey. Little did they know they would end up having a bit of an animal/pet theme, after incorporating their pets into the wedding cake and having elephants everywhere else. Their love of all things furry and feathery definitely shone through! It was very important to them to incorporate both of their religious upbringings into their ceremony and they did it seamlessly. They wanted to merge Michele’s Jewish heritage and Colleen’s Catholic upbringing by having a Chuppa, breaking of the glass and Hora (chair lifting / circle dance) for Michele and having the memory candles and passage reading for Colleen.
