Your baker may supply you with a simple stand for your cake—possibly a 1- to 2-inch piece of wood covered in fondant and decorated with a ribbon. But if you’re looking for something more elaborate, and your baker can’t provide it, you’ll need to go shopping.
Raise the Cake sells cake and cupcake stands for weddings, showers and other special events. You can design your own or choose from one of its “Couture Line” designs.
Here’s how it works: First you pick the size of your stand and the color, add a colored ribbon accent and some bling, if you want, and you’re done. Prices start at $80 for a stand in the collection. Custom stands start at $150.
