New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s less than startling veto of a gay marriage bill inspired push back. Marriage equality supporters are staging a Tuesday night rally at 7:30 p.m. at the Universalist Unitarian Church in Montclair, according to gayapolis.com.
The Garden State’s Assembly approved the marriage equality bill—42-33—last week. As promised, Christie vetoed the bill Friday. The move garnered criticism and prompted a possible override. Whether they’ll be enough votes to succeed is unknown.
