Eileen and Roci’s Costa Rica Airbnb proposal story is romantic and adventurous
[dropcap letter=”E”]ileen and I met in 5th grade, when we were 9 years old. People usually go bananas when I give that as my answer to the question, “How did the two of you meet?”
Our first kiss was under a blanket on the beach during a rain shower. Four years later she asked me to marry her in the middle of a thunderstorm in Costa Rica. The power went out because of the storm and Eileen lit candles all around our Airbnb room. Unbeknownst to me, she had brought the lavender-scented candles (my favorite) from home, as well as a very sentimental matchbox. When she was done lighting the candles, she handed me the matchbox. Inside was the most perfect ring I’ve ever seen. Then my best friend, soulmate, and lover got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with her. I sobbed for 40 minutes, but of course, I said yes!
