When we heard in September that Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his fiance, Justin Mikita, were teaming up with TheTieBar.com to create a collection of bow ties, we could barely contain ourselves. The collection has finally launched (just in time for the holidays!) and the designs are everything we imagined and more.

The designs range from the Signature style (an adorable owl print chosen because, according to Ferguson, “Owls symbolize wisdom, foresight and patience, all traits that we see in individuals that are fighting for marriage equality”), to rustic plaid, bold stripes to whimsical florals, combining elements of humor, style and individuality and all 21 pieces are priced at $25 each. Each piece represents an aspect of their personal lives, from a red bandana tie that was inspired by their dog, to a brown plaid tie that emulates a carpet in their living room. One is even named one for his fiancé, The Justin (aww!). There is also an all-black “Wedding” bow tie.
Not only do the ties give their wearers serious style, but the collection will benefit Tie the Knot, a new charity Ferguson and Mikita founded to raise awareness and advocate on behalf of marriage equality in the United States through art, fashion and entertainment, with 100 percent of the collection’s sales profits going toward various organizations across the country fighting for civil rights.
