LGBTQ+ wedding inspiration: celebrating queer love with a rooftop party, modern aesthetic and terracotta color palette
This sunny rooftop styled photoshoot in Orlando, Florida, combines modern and rustic aesthetics, using warm tones and natural light to highlight the model brides, who are also engaged in real life. White, ivory, coral, brown, gold, burnt orange and terracotta were present in all aspects of the shoot, from the cake to the decor at the loft venue.
Organized by a group of LGBTQ+ inclusive wedding vendors, the styled shoot was created as inspiration for queer weddings. They held a simple mock ceremony in which the brides read vows from custom-printed white vow books. The rest of the day included romantic couple’s portraits and enjoying the decor, cake and relaxed vibes that the creative team brought to the shoot.
One bride wore a vintage-inspired ivory gown with flowing long sleeves and a plunging neckline, while the other wore a white button-down and trousers paired with sneakers. The makeup artist applied a range of warm colors to the two brides’ skin to match the shades of the styled shoot’s terracotta color palette.
Floral displays matching the design of the featured couple’s bouquet and boutonniere cascaded over two geometric pillars framing the outdoor ceremony location, overlooking downtown Orlando. The wedding cake was a simple, two-tiered cake with white frosting, decorated with real flowers. This styled shoot provides inspiration for LGBTQ+ brides, grooms and marriers who want to combine modern and vintage elements for a romantic and elevated wedding experience.
