The LegalizeLove.com Campaign, an equality movement that has been putting bumper stickers on cars across the nation to spread the word for marriage equality, has hit the streets in a big way.
Inspired by the Presidentโs support for same-sex marriage, gay couple Luke Montgomery and Eduardo Cisneros covered every inch of their 2010 VW Beetle in over one thousand โLegalize Loveโ Obama bumper stickers, and set out on a 2,400 mile cross-country journey from their Los Angeles home to Charlotte, N.C., where the Democratic National Convention is currently being held, giving away Legalize Love stickers along the way.

โWe simply want the right to marry like everybody else. Weโre both excited to be here in Charlotte giving away free โLegalize Loveโ bumper stickers. Itโs going to be a tight race and the โObama Love Bugโ is all about going the extra mile and keeping anti-gay Mitt Romney out of the White House.โ said Eduardo Cisneros. โThe President is sticking up for our families and our free โLegalize Loveโ Obama bumper stickers are our way of literally โsticking upโ for him in this tight election.โ
โRepublican Super PACs are throwing millions of dollars at the Romney-Ryan campaign. We must do our part so that an inequality of campaign cash doesnโt lead to inequality for lesbians and gays,โ adds Luke Montgomery. โRomney might think cash is king, but LegalizeLove.com is out to prove love conquers all.โ
If youโre in the Charlotte area, look for the duo in blue Legalize Love tees, as theyโll be driving around handing out free bumper stickers and taking photos with supporters on Wednesday and Thursday. For exact location, call or text 310-663-7871.
Not in North Carolina? Follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, where activists are rallying for the cause, and donate to help continue passing out free bumper stickers to the public. In their websiteโs shop, apparel (starting at $9.99) is also available, with proceeds going toward helping the public participate in the marriage equality cause.
