This floral forward LGBTQ+ shoot was inspired by some of our same-sex couples who felt that their own love stories and personalities didn’t fit into the traditional narrative of weddings and wedding photography. We set out to create a styled shoot that was ultra-feminine with a fairy princess garden party vibe. We included lots of dainty details, such as a vintage tea set, victorian furniture, a custom-crafted fabric tent with floral accents and a variety of feminine florals and soft textures.
Alida and Caitlyn, our models for the shoot, are both active in the LGBTQ+ community and were thrilled to be on board for a project that brought more variety to the way the community is portrayed in wedding imagery. We chose wild and whimsical styling for their looks, embracing their red locks and natural curls.
Both florals and dresses were chosen to contrast and complement one another, with Alida wearing a flowing lace top a-line gown by Mikaella accompanied by a tight bouquet of florals and gold flaked roses, and Caitlin wearing a bohemian-inspired Pronovias mermaid fit dress with gorgeous lace detailing and a wild statement bouquet. —from the photographer, Tulle and Tweed Photography
