Retiring U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., will soon be a groom. Frank and his partner of four years, handyman and photographer Jim Ready, are engaged, the Advocate reports.

Jim Ready and retiring U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass.
Frank, 71, and Ready, 42, of Ogunquit, Maine will marry in Massachusetts. The happy couple hasn’t set a date yet. Frank is the first U.S. congressman to voluntarily come out.
He announced in November that he wouldn’t seek re-election. That announcement wasn’t void of Frank’s classic wit and boldness. He challenged thrice-married U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich to a debate, while questioning posed the biggest threat to traditional marriage.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
