“For this styled wedding shoot, the idea began as a way to highlight the beautiful Sylvanside Farm venue in rural Virginia. When Rachel, Marissa and I began to plan it, we decided to highlight an LGBTQ+ couple for our shoot—we’ve all seen plenty of styled shoots that lack diversity, and it was important to us to express that love exists in all forms. When we started looking for real LGBTQ+ couples, we actually found two, so then we decided to create two styled wedding experiences: One with a gay couple, and one with a lesbian couple.
