Sex and the City star Mario Cantone announced on The View on Friday that he recently wed Jerry Dixon, his partner of 20 years.
The comedian and musical theater director (Dixon) made their union legal in New York, the sixth state in the United States to fully grant marriage equality to same-sex couples. Pastor Jay Bakker, son of the late Tammy Faye Bakker Messner, officated.
“I got married for the same reasons you did,” Cantone, 51, told host Joy Behar, who also recently tied the knot. “We’re older now. We’ve been together 20 years. After 20 years you’re like, ‘Thanks for the anti-climactic honeymoon, government!'”
