For their May wedding, Ian (he/him) and Brian (he/him) chose a romantic and whimsical aesthetic to match the atmosphere of their outdoor garden venue. The couple incorporated white, ivory, orange, navy and light blue elements to bring a vibrant feel to the spring wedding. Multi-colored wildflowers and an illustrated seating chart tied the location into the decor, merging the natural surroundings with florals that are meaningful to the grooms.

Prior to the ceremony, Ian and Brian got ready together before their couple’s portraits around the grounds of their Ross, California, garden venue. They both wore modern suits and bowties in complementary colors that highlighted the ivory, orange and blue shades of their wedding color palette. The grooms’ looks were completed by green wildflower boutonnieres and matching brown dress shoes.

The ceremony took place on the steps of a white garden gazebo nestled beside a large round fountain. White foldable hand fans were provided for the guests to keep themselves cool as Ian and Brian exchanged their self-written vows. Having already taken portraits before the ceremony, the husbands joined their guests for cocktail hour, enjoying a variety of garden-inspired cocktails and lawn games like giant Jenga.

At the reception, guests were encouraged to sign a cloth-bound guest book and take pictures using disposable cameras. Small Edison bulb lights and white paper lanterns were strung across the space, adding to the inviting ambiance provided by the wildflower centerpieces at each table. After kicking off the party with a first dance, Ian and Brian cut their three-tiered white-frosted cake, decorated in colorful fresh flowers. The night went on with touching speeches, miniature passed desserts and lots of love shared with friends and family. The Equally Wed heart is a trademark of Palladino Publishing, LLC.
