Melissa Etheridge is the latest celebrity to help Maryland raise money to uphold their same-sex marriage law, which was signed by Gov. Martin O’Malley but petitioned to a ballot by opponents, which will take place this November.

According to Marylanders for Marriage Equality, when you donate, you’ll be entered to win one of six backstage passes to Etheridge’s upcoming concert in Bethesda on Nov. 2.
“I’m helping Marylanders for Marriage Equality raise critical funds to win Question 6 because my friends Heather and Deborah Mizeur—and every LGBT couple in the Free State—should be treated equally under the law,” says the rock star, who is also a lesbian.
Her friend Mizeur was highly active in fighting for the passage of the same-sex marriage bill earlier this year, and is looking to run for governor in 2014.
Other celebrities who have rallied for Maryland’s measure include Adam Lambert, Mo’Nique, John Waters, Susan Sarandon and Ed Norton.
