Lolide is the conception and creation of jeweler and Great British Baking show addict Lori Linkous Devine.
Lori is committed to creating unique, modern wedding ring alternatives for all types of unions. Lori’s designs draw inspiration from a combination of organic and industrial shapes with a sculptural foundation. The focus is on clean lines and thoughtful composition that is unfussy and sophisticated.
“I try to create pieces that are an alternative to the ‘wedding industrial complex’ and appeal to folks like me who feel traditional gender roles are stifling and unnecessary,” says Lori. “I want my designs to speak to the individual who eschews the ideology of traditional expectations.”
Lolide specializes in offering unique, modern engagement rings, uncommon wedding bands and artful jewelry for the non-traditional couple. Lori values all unions and would love to work with you to create the perfect piece or ensemble for your celebration.
Using a combination of organic and industrial shapes with a sculptural focus, Lori is very attracted to showing positive vs. negative space. She finds inspiration in the intersection of order and chaos, natural vs. industrial – the beautiful lush organic vine growing on a rusted glass and steel structure or the sound of rain on a metal roof – things that connect her rural Virginia childhood with her new home in Seattle. She strives to reflect this feeling of time, nature, and industry in her designs, a marriage of past and present. Lori uses recycled and recyclable materials whenever possible and always conflict-free stones.
“I am a metalsmith, artisan, reader, printmaker, former social worker, women’s health advocate, feminist. I strive to make the work I do have meaning by offering alternatives to the “wedding industrial complex” and giving a portion of profits to causes that are consistent with the values of hope and inclusion.”—Lori Linkous Devine, creater/owner/designer/maker, Lolide
