Isaac Mizrahi announced his recent marriage to partner Arnold Germer on “The Wendy Williams Show.” [Watch the video below.]
On the Jan. 4, 2012, episode, Mizrahi, a 50-year-old fashion designer, coyly flashed his wedding ring, attracting the talk-show host’s attention. It turns out the two now share a wedding date: Nov. 30.
When New York passed the Marriage Equality Bill this past summer, like several other male fashion designers (Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra, Michael Kors), Mizrahi and Germer decided to tie the knot.
But the idea of a high-profile fashion wedding got the lovebirds more than a little spooked. They went to a dinner party and realized that “people have ideas,” Mizrahi told Williams. “You have to have a series of parties, Vera Wang has to be called, that lady who makes the wedding cakes… Sylvia Weinstock — like, start now!’ So we were terrified and we decided to just elope to City Hall.”
