Angela and Cassie had a small, romantic pop-up wedding at The Arboretum at UC Davis. The couple had originally planned on having a big, fancy wedding with a guest list over 200 but they quickly realized it had become more about the event then about them and their love for each other. So they started over fresh and decided to scale it back to just them and their closest friends and family.
With no bridal party (except their dog Cuca bear) and just around 20 of their loved ones, they quickly decorated a small space in the arboretum’s redwood grove and got married. Their ceremony was short and sweet with each of them writing their own vows.
Over the years, we’ve heard some amazing proposal stories. But this one has to be one of the best! I can’t even tell you how amazing it is, so I’ll let Angela tell it in her own words!
“Wow! Best Day Ever!! It was at Dolores Park in San Francisco on Pride Weekend 2016. The park was packed that Saturday and it was all going so well. We had our friends around who came out to Pride. And the vibe of the day was filled with love. Little did I know that Cassie had it all planned out as we were sitting there surrounded by our friends and crowds of people that at 5 o’clock on the dot… my name started to get chanted. I was clueless as to why these people were calling out Angela. Then it hit me as the chanting of my name grew louder and louder, and as I looked around at the massive amount of people looking at me. I turned to look at Cassie and when I did there she was, down on one knee with a ring in her hand and a huge smile on her face and asking me if I’d marry her! And without any hesitation I said, “YES!” And the hundreds of people who stood around us and engulfed us with love and support and for those that didn’t know us, were at that very moment happy for our happiness and excited for our love and it was truly amazing! Again, BEST DAY EVER!!”
