This weekend soccer player Abby Wambach married her fiance, Christian blogger Glennon Doyle Melton. Much the same way that Wambach and Doyle Melton announced their engagement, the couple took to Instagram to share their newlywed status.
Instead of an album of wedding photos though, Wambach made a short a simple statement with a photo of her in a sweatshirt labeling her as a, “Christian Mommy Blogger’s Wife.”
After the word spread that the couple had tied the knot, Wambach was kind enough to give the fans what they wanted…a wedding photo.
While absolutely gorgeous, the black and white photo does not give justice to the intricate back on Doyle Melton’s dress or the deep, rich color of Wambach’s jacket. Doyle Melton shared a colorful kiss photo of the wedding day on her Instagram after she, too, announced the marriage with the photo of Wambach rocking her black mommy blogger hoodie.
Doyle Melton shared some sweet words about her wife, Wambach, reminding us all that love is out there.
“My beloveds – please never give up on love. Life could surprise the hell out of you. Trust me- you might just wake up one morning and find yourself smackdab in the middle of heaven. I love my wife. LOVE WINS.
