A rainy wedding day wasn’t raining on this parade

Having rain on your wedding day is a less than ideal but it’s impossible to avoid. You can’t control the weather, but you can control how you react and make the best of it. The day is about your marriage, not the weather, and that’s exactly the attitude that Kirstyn and Jackie had on their wedding day. Instead of letting the rain dampen their day, they put on their boots and danced. A great example of a positive attitude, this couple and their guests had an amazing time at their wedding and took great pictures, despite the bad weather going on around them.

From the photographer, BG Productions Photography and Videography: Reason Number one love our couples: They never let rain get them down on their wedding day. And this beautiful Stoltzfus Homestead Wedding starring Kirstyn and Jackie was no exception. BG Productions was thrilled to capture this crazy fun couple in both photos and video. Kirstyn and Jackie were total Rock Stars and didn’t let a little (well okay a lot ) of rain get them down!!
This same-sex couple had the wedding of their dreams at Stoltzfus Homestead and Garden. We were very lucky however and that we were able to get their first look and some of their portraits together outside before the rain began. While it wasn’t the prettiest of days out, it didn’t matter because they were so adorable and sooooo in love with each other. And how beautiful did they both look? They had the help of their friends Grace and Laura doing their hair and makeup.
We don’t let the rain slow us down. Al was even able to get a few minutes of drone footage. They were so thrilled and excited! We always work so hard and hustle to try to get in as much of what we know the couple wants as possible despite any obstacles like the weather. But we remind them that it’s mostly important just to have fun and live in the moment. Now they will have some extra funny stories to tell about their wedding day. And how perfect that they were wearing cowboy boots? A little rain getting on them wouldn’t hurt them at all. But they had some cute rain boots on standby just in case they needed. And besides, they had those cute rainbow socks to keep their feet warm. Who doesn’t love rainbow socks!!
Thanks to the really cute barn that the reception was being held in we were able to still get some good wedding party and family “formal” pictures in before the ceremony. The ceremony was always supposed to be in the smaller barn so the rain didn’t affect them in that regard at all. I so love the look of the barn. Their florists, Pearls and Petals along with Festive Board Catering, located in York, did a fantastic job decorating everything.
Another thing I loved about the barn was the loft area where the DJ, Klock Entertainment, was. It allowed us the ability to go up there and get photos and videos from above as well. These always make really cool shots because they show how much your guests are enjoying themselves. And this crowd definitely had a good time!!! There was a lot of crazy dancing (mostly coming from Kirstyn)!! It was so great to see them having so much fun with their friends and family. Jackie’s father made one of the most touching speeches I have ever heard. I wish all parents of LGBTQ youth felt the same. They are both blessed to have such great and supportive families. We couldn’t be happier for them .We are honored to be chosen to capture such important memories. Thanks to the whole BG Team (Al and Brian on video and Jen as my awesome possum 2nd shooter).
